The Ministry of Fishing and Aquaculture has reaffirmed its commitment to responsible regulation and the protection of aquatic resources, promoting techniques that ensure the conservation of species and ecological balance. Additionally, measures have been implemented to support artisanal fishermen and encourage innovation in the sector. Likewise, it is important to highlight the importance of obtaining the corresponding permits, as well as the mobilization guides, even within the same municipality. For this, the Minpesca teams are deployed throughout the country, in order to facilitate the completion of these procedures.
Currently, the global population exceeds 7 million people, and this figure is expected to rise to 9 million 700 thousand by 2050. Therefore, capture fishing in continental waters must meet the global challenge of sustainably feeding this growing population, as it offers quality, accessible, and affordable nutrition to some of the world's most vulnerable populations.
