Big Tech will spend more on AI infrastructure than the EU on defense
Four giants – Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta – will spend nearly $400 billion this year on infrastructure for artificial intelligence.
These amounts exceed the EU's defense spending from last year, and total investments in AI infrastructure could reach $2.9 trillion by 2028.
Apple is significantly lagging, spending much less and losing engineers who are being lured away by Meta with high salaries.
