Missing the ride is the biggest source of pain in investing.
Most investors can actually endure the pain of a downturn,
but when stock prices or cryptocurrency prices are rising:
the pain of selling and 'losing out' is much greater than that of 'declining'.
Three days ago, after I got off Bitcoin at 119,400 for a while,
Bitcoin surged to 120,000. At that time, many people couldn't resist the rise,
fearing they would miss out, so they jumped back in.
Even if I said to wait a few days, some still rushed in like moths to a flame.
Fear of rising and fear of falling are both types of suffering encountered in investing.
Sometimes we rethink:
"You missed out on 1 dollar of Bitcoin"
"You also missed out on 10 dollars of Bitcoin"
"You also missed out on 100 dollars of Bitcoin"...
...
"You even missed out on 100,000 dollars of Bitcoin this month"
Life is just a series of missed opportunities; missing out has become our norm, and we can naturally face the regrets of life more calmly.
In order to develop my career in the cryptocurrency space, I have also missed out on
"my love life"
"my health"
"time spent with family"
If I had to choose again today, I would still only be able to choose a few directions,
I would inevitably have to give up certain choices, and pay the price of equivalent exchange,
so that I could get the results I want.
In this lifetime, you can't have it all,
sometimes rethinking can help you face your investment fears more calmly.
