TRUMP OVERCOMES THE REPUBLICAN REBELLION: CRYPTO WEEK RESUMES AFTER THE AGREEMENT

A trio of cryptocurrency bills that were supposed to be approved this week got stalled on Tuesday after a block of Republicans unexpectedly joined the Democrats.
The backlash represented a rare case in which House Republicans challenged Trump, with conservatives from the Freedom Caucus resisting the procedures. The crisis was resolved when Trump met with Republican leaders to mediate an agreement.
The legislative package includes the GENIUS Act for the regulation of stablecoins and the Clarity Act to define the regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies. The package had already passed the Senate last month with 18 Democrats joining the Republican majority.
After the agreement reached at the White House, Trump confirmed that there are now the necessary votes to advance the crypto legislation, revitalizing ambitions to make the United States a global leader in digital currencies.
