The Indian Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has released its preliminary report regarding the Air India Boeing 787-8 aircraft incident on June 12 in Ahmedabad. According to the report, both engines of the aircraft suddenly shut down by themselves just seconds after takeoff, leading to a situation where the aircraft was about to fall.

According to the 15-page report by AAIB, the aircraft had reached a maximum indicated airspeed (IAS) of 180 knots around 08:08 AM when the fuel cut-off switches for Engine-1 and Engine-2 (which supply fuel to the engines) switched from 'RUN' to 'CUTOFF'. The interval between these two switches was just one second, causing fuel supply to cease and the N1 and N2 rotation speeds of both engines to begin to drop.
