Apps are not the only way criminals carry out scams that can lead to bank account theft; there are methods by which these cybercriminals can capture important data and carry out hacking.

This scam technique focuses on two specific buttons on phones that have a special connectivity function, which represents a greater threat because the infiltration by another person can even be invisible for a few moments.

According to the technology expert portal Computer Hoy, both the Bluetooth and GPS functions are highly necessary and useful; however, there are methods by which cybercriminals can infiltrate and steal data at will.

This type of scam is based on Bluesnarfing, which Incibe explains as: "The concept of Bluesnarfing combines two English words: Bluetooth, a well-known wireless technology used for connecting devices, and snarf, which refers to 'copying or indiscriminately extracting data without permission.' Together, they describe a type of cyber attack in which criminals unauthorizedly access Bluetooth devices to extract personal and confidential information."
