Haifa Residents Take Shelter in Mall Parking Lot During New Missile Attack

Residents of Haifa, a city in northern Israel, rushed to take cover in an underground parking lot beneath a shopping mall during a renewed missile attack by Iran on Friday, as witnessed by a CNN team on site.

Reporting from Haifa, CNN’s Nic Robertson described how he and his team followed locals into a nearby shopping mall when air raid sirens began to wail. “As the sirens sounded, we looked around and followed people leaving the street—they knew exactly where the underground shelters were,” Robertson said.

The CNN team descended several levels within the mall to reach the underground car park, where civilians had gathered to shelter. Many were seen checking their phones for real-time updates on the unfolding situation above.

According to the Israeli military, Iran launched a new wave of missile attacks targeting northern, central, and southern regions of Israel on Friday.
