The Israeli police reported "several impacts" in the country after missiles launched by Iran caused violent explosions in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and hit a hospital in the south.
AFP journalists heard loud and continuous explosions in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv after the Israeli army warned of missile launches from Iran against several Israeli regions.
The army called on the population in the affected areas to seek shelters.
The detonations, which occurred around 07:10 local time, are the most intense heard in Jerusalem since the start of the offensive launched by Israel against Iran on June 13, AFP reporters noted.
The missiles reportedly hit the Soroka Hospital in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on X.
A spokesman for the health center stated that there was "damage to the hospital and significant damage in several areas. We are currently assessing the damage, including injuries. We ask the public not to come to the hospital at this time."
In Tel Aviv, sirens sounded for the second time, seemingly indicating a new wave of missiles, while the mobile applications of the Home Front Command issued alerts continuously throughout the morning in various parts of Israel.
Magen David Adom, Israel's equivalent of the Red Cross, indicated that it had sent teams to the "designated points," without providing further details.
