Let me briefly talk about my previous experiences in the cryptocurrency world:
BTC: In November 2023, I stepped into the crypto world with one foot, catching the BTC hype around ETF expectations during that time, gradually accumulating BTC from over 30k to over 70k, all the way until November 2024 when the 'King of Understanding' was elected. After that, I focused on when to escape the peak. For escaping the peak, I only listen to @Murphy , who was the first KOL I followed with this new account, speaking with data and indicators, allowing me to play Texas Hold'em in the crypto world instead of 'Hundred Families'. Unfortunately, I originally planned to liquidate after the 'King of Understanding' took office and before the Spring Festival, but due to an overly aggressive liquidation strategy and differing opinions among teammates, I completed the liquidation on January 23, and that night the 'King' issued favorable administrative orders for BTC, and I bought back on January 24, missing the best opportunity to exit. Ultimately, I liquidated gradually between February and March.
Altcoins: Starting in November 2023, in addition to buying BTC, I also gradually bought more than a dozen altcoins. At that time, I was inexperienced and greedy, simply thinking that Bitcoin's gains would definitely not compare to those of altcoins, and as the altcoin season was approaching, I jumped on board quickly. The problem was that the 'altcoin season' at the beginning of 2024 was too short; just last week I was still reveling in a 50% gain, and the following week it was cut in half. Various VC coins began to plummet from April 2024, continuing to decline until the lowest point in September, and I finally lost all hope for altcoins, completely cutting losses and shifting to BTC/ETH/SOL. I truly did not expect to incur such losses in the bull market by trading altcoins. During that period, I also started to pay attention to macro KOLs like @PhyrexNi and learned about the power of macro data, and began learning about profit-taking, stop-losses, and other trading systems, shifting from mystical trading to scientific trading.
Meme coins: In early November 2024, I started to make small investments in dog coins, catching the good times of the Solana ecosystem pump and dog coin explosion. At that time, buying any dog coin with a concept or angle would yield significant returns. After half a month of random buying, my dog coin position quickly gained 15 times. However, gains and losses come from the same source; dog coins gained quickly but also lost quickly, and by the end of November, I lost it all again. Following that, I seized the Christmas AI second spring and increased my positions, but on January 18, 2025, after the 'King' issued coins, I was ruthlessly drained, and the crypto world began to get strange, with liquidity rapidly drying up, and the more diamond-handed one was, the more they lost money. Everyone was competing to see who had the least vision and could run the fastest. Ultimately, I also completely liquidated in February, and my overall experience with dog coins can be considered break-even.
Then from the big drop on April 7 this year to now, I have been too cautious, only watching rebounds and not daring to enter positions, completely missing the rise of BTC from 74K to 110K, which was a big failure in my trading plan. In my regret, I can only continue to learn and improve, waiting for the next opportunity to strike.
Summary: After a year and a half of ups and downs, I've not made much, just a small A7, and I still can't completely relax. I am still a novice, quite ordinary with no special talent, and can only look up to all the greats earning A8s and A9s. But I believe there will be another wave of opportunities in the crypto world that will benefit us. As long as I hold on, protect my principal, continue to cultivate my skills, and patiently wait for a trend with higher certainty to come, I will definitely be able to progress from A7 to A8!
