Hardware manufacturer Ledger launches Solana-customized non-custodial wallet

According to reports, hardware manufacturer Ledger has launched the latest Ledger Flex device specifically designed for Solana. This touchscreen wallet comes pre-installed with a Soulbound token, which is said to potentially bring rewards in the future. Ledger is set to launch its latest flagship non-custodial Flex series wallet in the summer of 2024, coinciding with its tenth anniversary, and will subsequently release a Bitcoin-customized version. This announcement at the Solana Accelerate conference in New York highlights the growing importance of the Solana network within the crypto ecosystem. With the aftermath of the FTX collapse and related events involving its founder Sam Bankman-Fried fading, the Solana network has seen a significant recovery since last year, with a surge in consumer-friendly decentralized applications. Dan Albert, executive director of the Solana Foundation, believes this is a dedicated device for the Solana community, symbolizing not only asset holding but also serving as a passport to future rewards and experiences. The new device supports secure storage and trading of Solana's native SPL tokens and simplifies the integration of such tokens with other digital assets. As the Solana community rapidly expands, security concerns need to be prioritized.
