What is the Solana project?
Solana is a decentralized protocol for building decentralized applications (dApps) with a transfer rate of 65,000 transactions per second (TPS) thanks to a distributed computing system.
Unlike most protocols that operate with a proof-of-stake (PoS) or proof-of-work (PoW) mechanism, the Solana blockchain uses a proof-of-history (PoH) mechanism, which is a new cryptographic method that enhances scalability while maintaining network security.
Solana is among the few first-layer solutions capable of supporting thousands of transactions per second without the need for implementing second layers or off-chain solutions.
