Lessons from a losing trade: Right technique, wrong mindset – and the cost of leverage
Entered a Long position on $SEI at 0.2639 based on standard technical analysis – strong support, RSI oversold, nice candlestick signal. But the mistake lay in: misjudging the macro context, as the market began to adjust, capital flowed out of Altcoins.
I made a double mistake:
1. Shifting the investment timeframe from short to medium due to emotions, without a clear plan.
2. Using leverage, which made the losses heavier than usual.
Even though I corrected my mistake by accepting a stop-loss when the price broke through strong support, the lesson remains clear:
Correct analysis can still result in losses if the mindset is wrong and risk management is weak.
A trading system is only strong when you have enough discipline to stick to it.
