A senior official from the Punjab Irrigation Department confirmed that India has stopped the supply of water to Pakistan
ANKARA
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, against the backdrop of ongoing disputes with Pakistan, stated that India's water will be used for the benefit of the country.
At one of the events, Modi touched upon the contentious issue of the 'Indus Waters Treaty' amid continuing strained relations with Pakistan, reports NDTV.
Noting that there are many discussions in the media on this issue, Modi said: 'In the past, the water that was India's right flowed out of the country. Now India's water will flow for the benefit of the country, will be preserved for the benefit of the country, and used for the benefit of the country.'
The Prime Minister did not directly mention the name of Pakistan in his speech.
According to the Dawn newspaper, a senior official from the Punjab Irrigation Department confirmed that India has stopped the supply of water to Pakistan.
