SBI VC Trade, the financial arm of the giant Japanese SBI Holdings for cryptocurrency trading, revealed that XRP was the second most traded cryptocurrency last month.

The XRP/JPY pair managed to outperform the ETH/JPY pair (the two cryptocurrencies rank second and third respectively).

Solana (SOL) and Dogecoin (DOGE) come in fourth and fifth places respectively.

Naturally, Bitcoin was the most traded cryptocurrency on the prominent Japanese exchange. The popularity gained by the cryptocurrency associated with Ripple is not surprising, as it has had a strong presence in Japan for a long time. Last week, as reported by U.Today, XRP also became available on the cryptocurrency platform Mercoin, the leading marketplace application in Japan. This is another indicator of the token reaching a level of widespread acceptance. As noted by former Ripple CEO, Emi Yoshikawa, those purchasing cryptocurrencies through the mentioned application are typically beginners.
