#EthereumFuture 🔧 Technical Updates

1. Pectra Update (Prague + Electra)

Scheduled for May 2025. This update includes:

• EIP-7251: increase of the staking limit for validators to 2048 ETH, promoting decentralization.

• EIP-7702: allows regular wallets (EOA) to use smart contract functionality, enhancing interaction with applications. 

2. Scaling and Sharding

Vitalik Buterin emphasized the importance of Phase 3 Sharding, aimed at increasing throughput and reducing latency in the Ethereum network. This will ensure more efficient operation of both the main network (Layer 1) and second-layer solutions (Layer 2).
