#AppleCryptoUpdate Innovations in Message Encryption
• End-to-End Encryption for RCS on iOS: Apple plans to implement end-to-end encryption for RCS messages between iPhone and Android devices. This will ensure the security of correspondence at the level of iMessage. The update will be based on the RCS Universal Profile 3.0 standard, which includes the Messaging Layer Security (MLS) protocol.
• Post-Quantum Protocol PQ3 for iMessage: Apple has introduced the PQ3 cryptographic protocol, which protects correspondence in iMessage from potential attacks using quantum computers. The protocol is already being implemented in beta versions of iOS 17.4, iPadOS 17.4, and macOS 14.4.

🚫 Blocking of “CryptoPro” Products
• In March 2024, Apple revoked the code-signing certificates for the products of “CryptoPro” and removed their applications from the App Store for macOS. This is related to the sanctions imposed by the USA on “CryptoPro” in February 2024.
• As a result, users faced issues when using electronic signatures on Mac. “CryptoPro” provided instructions and new distributions to bypass the restrictions; however, full functionality on macOS was disrupted.
