Unethical Rate Change by P2P Seller Post-Payment – A Disappointing Experience
Having engaged in P2P trading of USDT for over five years, I have never encountered a situation as concerning as the one I faced today. I initiated a purchase of USDT worth Rs. 55,000 at the agreed rate of Rs. 291.47. After making the payment via the specified method, the seller failed to confirm the transaction within the 15-minute window, and the order expired without the release of the USDT.
Upon contacting the seller via WhatsApp, I was asked to record a video confirming that the payment had been made personally. I complied and shared the video. The seller then informed me that he would repost the advertisement so I could mark the transaction as “Transferred” once more. However, upon reposting, he unethically altered the rate to Rs. 295.47, deviating from our original agreement.
This experience not only reflects a serious breach of trust but also highlights a significant risk within the P2P ecosystem that platforms must address more rigorously.
