ATTENTION: China expresses interest in Pix: ‘We want to know more’!📝📊📄📈😎🤔

Representatives of banks and fintechs from China expressed interest in Pix during the Valor Econômico Brazil-China Summit, an event that began this Wednesday (23) and will bring together Brazilian and Chinese authorities, experts and businesspeople in Shanghai until next Friday (25).

During his participation in Panel 6 of the event, “Building Bridges of Financial Cooperation to Leverage Sustainable Growth”, the global director of research at China International Capital Corporation (CICC), Chen Jianheng, highlighted that investments by more than 20 thousand Chinese companies in Latin America exceed US$ 70 billion in 10 years and that, due to the complexity between Brazil and China, the countries will need more cooperation in the future.

According to a publication by Valor, Ben Shenglin, member of the Board of Directors of Banks and Fintechs of Zhejiang Province, home to the e-commerce giant Alibaba, expressed interest in learning more about the instant transaction platform launched on October 5, 2020 by the Central Bank (BC). Since then, Pix has surpassed R$ trillion in transaction volume. He added that he wants to increase investments in cutting-edge technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), highlighting that “São Paulo ranks first in innovation in Latin America and ninth in the world”. Speaking about regulatory issues, another topic addressed during the panel, Marcos Caramuru, former Brazilian ambassador to China, stressed that projects need compatible regulations to be put into practice. In the opinion of the advisor to the Brazilian Center for International Relations (Cebri), the definition of clear standards brings with it the ability to assess risk. #PIX #IA #china #brasil
