SEC will discuss the storage of crypto assets — the second roundtable on April 25

💸 The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will hold the second round of discussions on crypto regulation. The topic of the meeting will be the storage of digital assets and the differences in approaches between broker-dealers and investment advisors.

🗓 Date: April 25

🔈 The meeting will be opened by the new head of the SEC — Paul Atkins, who took office this week.

🗣 Participants: representatives from Kraken, BitGo, Fidelity, Anchorage, Fireblocks, Exodus, as well as lawyers and scholars.

📌 Issues under consideration:

1️⃣ Custodial solutions through broker-dealers

2️⃣ Storage with investment advisors and qualified custodians

💬 The industry has long discussed that the current SEC rules are not adapted to the crypto reality. Participants emphasize:

"Investors want both security and access 24/7 — but regulators force them to choose."

Let us remind you, this is the second of four planned sessions.
