Germany seized €34 million in cryptocurrency from exchange eXch — suspicion of money laundering

🅱️ On April 30, 2025, German police, with the support of the Netherlands, conducted a large-scale operation against the cryptocurrency exchange eXch, which had been operating since 2014. The platform has been shut down, servers seized, and €34 million in BTC, ETH, LTC, and DASH confiscated.

Also seized:

1️⃣ over 8 TB of data

2️⃣ evidence of ties to the darknet

3️⃣ possible role in laundering part of $1.5 billion stolen in the Bybit hack

⚠️ The platform was actively promoted as a KYC-free exchange, not collecting personal data, which made it popular among darknet users.
