According to an official announcement, on April 21, 2025, Metaplanet increased its holdings by 330 BTC at an average price of 12.18 million yen (approximately 86,517 USD) per coin, with a total investment of 4.02 billion yen (approximately 28.23 million USD), bringing its total holdings to 4,855 coins.

Previously, on April 14, Metaplanet purchased an additional 319 bitcoins at a price of about 82,549 USD each, with a total value of approximately 26.3 million USD, increasing its holdings to 4,525 coins.

Metaplanet is a publicly listed company in Japan that has incorporated Bitcoin into its strategic reserve assets since 2023. The company aims to hold over 10,000 bitcoins by the end of 2025 and ultimately reach 21,000 coins by 2026. To support this strategy, Metaplanet is actively financing through equity and debt, including issuing multiple batches of zero-interest bonds and acquiring subscription rights for EVO Fund stocks.
