On April 14, the Japanese listed company Metaplanet increased its holdings by 319 Bitcoins, worth approximately 26.3 million USD, with an average price of about 82,549 USD each. This move brings its total Bitcoin holdings to 4,525, valued at around 386.3 million USD, solidifying its position as the largest corporate holder in Asia and ranking tenth globally. Metaplanet employs a strategy of direct purchases and options trading, with a BTC yield of 95.6% in the first quarter of 2025, indicating strong growth. The company's goal is to hold 10,000 Bitcoins by the end of the year and reach 21,000 by 2026, accounting for approximately 0.1% of the total Bitcoin supply. This strategy has attracted market attention, with the stock price surging over 3000% since the implementation of the Bitcoin strategy. However, uncertainty around tariffs and market volatility pose challenges. Metaplanet is actively financing its Bitcoin expansion plan through bond issuance and stock subscription rights.
