Dogecoin (DOGE) to Hit 1 Dollar?
Dogecoin has been on fire again recently! It skyrocketed from 0.11 dollars at the end of last year to 0.46 dollars, an increase of over 300%, making many investors envious.
But the reality is harsh. For Dogecoin to hit 1 dollar, it must overcome three major pitfalls:
1. Unlimited issuance, significant inflation pressure
Bitcoin has a total supply of 21 million coins, and its scarcity supports its value.
Dogecoin issues an additional 5 billion coins each year, resulting in an inflation rate of 3.8%, which will suppress prices in the long run.
Without sufficient demand growth, it will be difficult for prices to continue rising.
2. Huge selling pressure from low-cost holders
Most DOGE holders have an extremely low cost (below 0.01 dollars). Once the price approaches 1 dollar, the selling pressure will surge.
After DOGE rose to 0.73 dollars in 2021, it plummeted due to early whales cashing out.
3. Musk's “loss of favor,” decreased popularity
In 2021, a single tweet from Musk could cause DOGE to surge by 50%.
But now, his mentions of DOGE have decreased, and the market lacks speculative catalysts.
Can DOGE still rise in 2025?
Although the challenges are enormous, three catalysts could change DOGE's fate:
1. Approval of DOGE Spot ETF (the biggest positive)
Institutions like Bitwise and Grayscale have applied for a DOGE Spot ETF, with the market predicting a 69% chance of approval. Once approved, institutional funds will flood in, and DOGE could see an epic surge.
2. Expansion of payment scenarios (enhancing practicality)
Tesla, Twitch, and others already support DOGE payments. If more giants (like Amazon, PayPal) join in, DOGE will shed its “air coin” label.
3. Increased on-chain activity (signal of capital inflow)
If DOGE's network transaction volume and the number of holding addresses grow, it may push the price to break through key resistance levels.
Is DOGE's dream of reaching 1 dollar an illusion or an opportunity?
There is a chance, but it requires positive developments to materialize (ETF + payment implementation). Without practical applications, 1 dollar is just a community fantasy. Short-term, it could be a speculative rebound, but caution is needed for the long term.
In 2025, will DOGE make a comeback or go to zero? It all depends on these key factors!
