After Trump took office, the Kennedy Center broke the attendance record for public events
Despite the Democratic Party's ongoing boycott of the Kennedy Center since President Trump took office, the center's attendance in March still set a historical record for public events
In March of this year, the Kennedy Center's fireworks display "From Earth to Space: Art Breaking Through the Sky" attracted over 11,000 spectators, setting a new record for public events:
This historic moment's celebration comes amid fierce criticism from liberals regarding President Donald Trump's takeover of the Kennedy Center. Critics have expressed concerns about Trump's understanding and appreciation of the arts in taking over the Kennedy Center. However, the number of on-site attendees tells a different story. The Kennedy Center has committed to shedding politically charged programs, hosting a highly attended fireworks display that achieved great success.
A representative from the Kennedy Center noted that 76% of the fireworks display audience had never set foot in the venue before. This event was open to the public, with tickets available for free on the Kennedy Center website, first come, first served.
Visitors enjoyed the fireworks display from the 360-degree rooftop terrace and flocked to the riverside promenade to experience the artistic charm of the fireworks bursting over the Potomac River. The first 800 visitors enjoyed a VIP experience, with the opportunity to send a firework into the sky through Cai Guo-Qiang's custom AI model cAITM's web interface.
Roma Daravi, Vice President of Public Relations at the Kennedy Center, stated that this event indicates the Kennedy Center will offer similar programs in the near future.
Daravi said, "It's wonderful to have so many new audiences coming to the Kennedy Center to see Cai Guo-Qiang's fireworks display. We look forward to them bringing even more exciting programs soon. Everyone is welcome here!"
