Cryptocurrency Shocking Case: Bybit Hacked for $1.5 Billion, A Heartbreaking Lesson to Alert Everyone
Last night, the Bybit exchange experienced the largest theft in cryptocurrency history, with $1.5 billion worth of ETH swept away by hackers, resulting in a staggering loss of over 270u.
At that moment, my friend was smugly looking at his profit of 33u, but not long after, I sent him a message that blockchain detective ZACHXBT confirmed that Bybit was hacked. He was stunned when he saw it.
From having made a fortune to only having 10U left, he didn’t sleep all night, his eyes glued to the market, hoping to see some good news. Those detestable North Korean hackers had their “bullets” ready to scare, and they directly “pierced” him.
This incident is truly heartbreaking, but it also provides us with some painful lessons:
First, don’t think that exchanges or cold wallets are safes. The hackers stole the money directly from the cold wallet this time. In this “dark forest” of cryptocurrency, there is no absolutely safe place.
Second, mindset is really important. Sometimes, even when we know things cannot be salvaged, we still hold onto a glimmer of hope, wishing for a miracle to happen. This gambler's mentality is truly detrimental.
Now, the hacker's wallet address is still bouncing on the blockchain explorer, but that loss of 270u can never be recovered. However, I hope that if my sharing can help others avoid falling into the same trap, then it is indeed valuable.
Although my friend can only smile wryly now, he has to keep moving forward in this “dark forest.” I hope we can all learn something from this incident and not make the same mistakes again.
In the upcoming bull market, I will lead everyone to aim for the wealth opportunities in altcoins, with an expected space of over 10 times being no problem. Like and comment, and I will take you through the entire bull market layout!
