Conor Grogan, director of Coinbase, has identified active accounts linked to Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, through the Canadian exchange Kraken. Grogan argues that Satoshi was last active in 2014 and that he used a Canadian BTC exchange. His analysis, supported by the firm Arkham Intelligence, suggests that Nakamoto's addresses follow the Patoshi mining pattern, allowing for the inference of the identities of the early Bitcoin miners due to privacy flaws in the original client.

Arkham Intelligence found that the wallets attributed to Satoshi are connected to early Bitcoin nodes and contain a significant fraction of the BTC mined by him. Additionally, Grogan discovered 24 outgoing transactions from a Patoshi address, including transactions with Cavirtex, a Canadian exchange platform acquired by Kraken in 2016. This could indicate that Kraken has information about the identity of Satoshi if Cavirtex was applying KYC policies at that time.

Grogan suggests that further investigation could provide definitive evidence of the connection between Satoshi and the Patoshi mining pattern. This finding could be crucial in unraveling the mystery of the identity of the creator of Bitcoin.
