mmERCH Launches “I Heart LA” Wildfire Recovery Fundraiser
Generative apparel company mmERCH led a three-day charity art sale that raised over 17 ETH (about $56,000) for families affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.
The casting, which runs from January 17 to 19, features seven unique pieces of art from Larva Labs founders Matt Hall and John Watkinson, as well as digital artist Grant Yun, CrypToadz creators Gremplin, Niceaunties, Chikai, ClownVamp, and Goyong.
mmERCH announced that all proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit Baby2Baby, which distributes emergency supplies to children and families through its 470 local partners in Los Angeles County. Learn more about Baby2Baby donations on its X.

Parallel expands prize pool and announces new patch
Echelon, the blockchain ecosystem behind the hit trading card game (TCG) Parallel, has made new announcements ahead of its March esports tournament.
According to the announcement, the league's initial $500,000 prize pool sparked fierce competition, and partners are currently planning to increase the prize to $3 million over the next two seasons.
Players can also look forward to larger prize pools and a brand new game patch in February to enhance gameplay, fix bugs, and tweak the way ranked players earn rewards.
The upcoming live esports tournament will take place from February 28 to March 2 at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas.

GOAT Gaming is launching a new AI agent called “AlphaGOATs”
On February 6, gaming community GOAT Gaming will launch an artificial intelligence character called "AlphaGOAT" that players can manage in multiple player-versus-player (PvP) games.
These autonomous agents, which are said to cost between $325 and $775, according to preliminary descriptions, will receive a fixed allocation of GG tokens and be able to participate in games, grow their fan base, and earn rewards on behalf of holders.
As of now, a full list of AlphaGOAT-compatible games has not yet been released, however, developers anticipate that they will be able to integrate the AlphaGOAT agent into third-party games using GOAT Gaming’s open source tools, and from the existing roadmap it appears that a suite of self-service tools will be available by 2026.

Igloo-backed Abstract Chain announces incentive program
Ahead of its upcoming mainnet launch, Ethereum second layer (L2) chain Abstract has announced a new points program for users, developers, and creators building within the ecosystem using Abstract Global Wallets.
Additionally, Abstract confirmed its first cohort of architects-in-residence on January 20, which includes five projects covering games, memecoins, and a project described as “something new and exciting.”
Abstract is owned by Igloo, Inc., the parent company of Pudgy Penguins, and aims to simplify the process of creating and scaling intellectual property (IP) on-chain.

Rumble Kong League will migrate to the Ronin sidechain
Mobile basketball game Rumble Kong League announced on Jan. 16 that it will migrate from the layer-one (L1) Avalanche blockchain to Ronin, a sidechain linked to Ethereum that was originally made for pet battle game Axie Infinity.
According to analytics platform Token Terminal, Ronin has at least 1 million weekly active users as of the time of publishing, and Rumble Kong cited Ronin’s 17.2 million total wallet downloads as one of the reasons for the switch.
The day before the Rumble Kong announcement, Ronin launched a $10 million grant to expand the impact of builders within the ecosystem.

Nifty Island players test new AI agent
Free social game Nifty Island has also caught up with the AI agent wave. On December 19, the team invited players to create AI agents to play the game. This week, people began to post on Twitter their first earnings from these agents, which are calculated in the game’s native token ISLAND.
This development comes after Nifty Island released a new patch to upgrade its gaming features.

Xociety conducts limited-time game testing
Xociety, a third-person shooter role-playing game built on the Sui blockchain, will allow players to take part in quests and challenges during a free playtest period from January 18 to 21.
For a total of six hours of gameplay, participants participated in various activities to test new features such as map changes and user experience (UX) updates, while taking advantage of prize pools and evaluating the quality of gameplay on Sui.
