Santiment, an on-chain analytics organization, posted on X about how the Total Amount of Holders has compared the biggest cryptocurrencies in 2025.
The “Total Amount of Holders” indicator tracks the number of addresses on a network with a non-zero balance. When this statistic grows, it may indicate new blockchain investors or existing ones returning.
When the Total Amount of Holders rises, all of these forces are at play, therefore net coin adoption is likely. However, the indication falling suggests some investors are cleaning their wallets, maybe to depart the cryptocurrency.
The following chart illustrates the trend in Total Amount of Holders for six prominent digital assets: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), Cardano (ADA), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Chainlink (LINK):
The following graph shows that Chainlink is the only cryptocurrency with a negative change in Total Amount of Holders, down 3,300 or 0.5% since the start of the year.
Ethereum has 645,000 investors, the greatest in sheer numbers. Due to ETH's enormous user base, this rise is merely 0.5%.
Bitcoin is second with 102,000 new addresses and a network balance, followed by XRP at 58,000. The latter's number may look little, but its holder base is large, hence its Total Amount of Holders rise is the steepest.
The dramatic spike XRP has witnessed this year is a continuation of the pattern from 2024.
