WazirX, one of India's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, suffered a “security breach” after almost US$235 million (R$1.2 billion) in funds were moved in a suspicious transfer. In a tweet, the exchange confirmed that one of its multisig wallets had suffered a security breach and that it was “actively investigating the incident”. It added that cryptocurrency and rupee withdrawals were “temporarily paused” following the breach. The company did not comment on the amount of crypto assets affected by the breach, but a previous tweet from blockchain security firm Cyvers indicated that $234.9 million in funds had been transferred to a new address to pass through the Tornado Cash cryptocurrency mixer.Cyvers reported that the assets exchanged for ETH in a series of “suspicious transactions” included PEPE, GALA, SHIBA-INU, and USDT.
