1️⃣ Justice: The founder of the cryptocurrency exchange platform Bitzlato, Anatoly Legkodymov, has pleaded guilty to the transfer and laundering of criminal funds. According to the prosecutor's office, the Russian holds a controlling stake in a company that served as the main channel for darknet traders and ransomware operators. As part of the plea agreement, Legkodymov has agreed to shut down #bitzlato and waive any claims to approximately $23 million related to the seized assets of the exchange. 🤔

2️⃣ Le Monde: All criminal charges have been dropped against the hackers who stole $8.5 million from the #defi protocol Platypus Finance. A French court acknowledged that the hackers' manipulations cannot be considered fraud. However, Platypus may continue to pursue the perpetrators in civil court. 🕵️‍♂️

3️⃣ Kyber Network: The team of the decentralized exchange KyberSwap will offer grants from the project's treasury to users affected by the November hack totaling $48.8 million. 💔

4️⃣ IRS: The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has reported an increase in the number of cases related to tax evasion using cryptocurrencies. Just three years ago, the majority of crimes in the #crypto industry were related to money laundering, but the situation has now changed. 👍

5️⃣ SlowMist: In November alone, experts recorded 47 incidents related to #hacker activities. The total damage from the attacks amounted to $349 million. More than half of the lost funds in cryptocurrency were attributed to hacks of projects associated with Justin Sun. 🔐
