Strive is following Michael Saylor’s strategy: raise funds → buy Bitcoin → repeat.
Last week, the company purchased 1,375 BTC for $109 million, at an average of $79,281 per coin, bringing its total holdings to 24,531 BTC valued at roughly $1.9 billion. For three consecutive weeks, the growth in holdings exceeded 5% week over week.
About 70% of the capital came via SATA, which are excellent shares paying a 13% annual return; their nominal value now stands at $999 million.
CEO Matt Cole said: “Now is the time to break through the $1 billion barrier.”
But the risks are real. A similar Strategy stock has fallen this year below its nominal value, forcing the company to sell Bitcoin for the first time since 2022 to cover dividend distributions. As for SATA, it has held up, but it hasn’t faced similar pressures yet, according to Decrypt.
A year ago, Strive was not a Bitcoin company at all. Today, it’s become the world’s fifth-largest institutional Bitcoin treasury, ahead of SpaceX and Coinbase.
The scenario doesn’t necessarily repeat…
But the last time this signal appeared on BTC, the price dropped by about 30%.
And now the signal has appeared again.
