Service restoration underway: electricity at 90% and drinking water at 84% in La Guaira, Governor reports

The local chief executive, José Alejandro Terán, reported on the restoration of 95% of commercial activity in the central parishes of the entity that were least affected, as well as the full supply of fuel.

José Alejandro Terán, Governor of La Guaira, stated that in the state, electricity service has been restored to 90% and drinking water supply to 84%. According to the official report, 95% of commercial activity has also been activated in the central parishes that were least affected «and, in general across the state, we are already reaching 65%», he said.

Terán explained that gas stations are stocked with fuel and that 210 transport units are operating, belonging to 32 public transportation routes.

The governor noted that 15 critical points remain in the state, the most affected areas being Caraballeda, Macuto, and Playa Grande in Catia La Mar.

Regarding the disposal of debris, he said it was agreed «to carry out the final disposal of the debris at the Santa Eduvigis landfill, where we have a volumetric capacity to receive more than three million tons of this debris» on the five hectares set aside for this purpose.

According to Jacqueline Faría, president of the Venezuela Renace mission, across the national territory there are 9,055 homes in the reconstruction phase, while in La Guaira, 49% of the households they have visited are in habitable condition and 27% of the properties are in red (based on the safety traffic-light system for infrastructure) and cannot be occupied, Unión Radio reports.
