#bstockscis @BinanceCIS PayPal shares (
$PYPLB ) surged by +6.55% in a single day. This made the token the absolute growth leader on the bStocks platform.
The main and most powerful growth catalyst was an exclusive publication in The Wall Street Journal. The largest private fintech giant, Stripe, together with the investment firm Advent International, is holding advanced talks to acquire PayPal.
The consortium proposed to buy 100% of PayPal shares for cash at a price of $60.50 per share (which represented a 28% premium over the initial valuation at the time of the first closed contacts in April).
The company’s management considered the initial $60.50 price tag to be too low and rejected the offer. Right now, the parties are discussing an increased buyout price.
Why is this a mega-event? The merger will combine PayPal’s massive consumer base (including Venmo) with Stripe’s acquiring for merchants. An absolute payments monster will be born on the market with an annual transaction volume of $3.7 trillion.
bStocks traders are widely pricing in the assumption that the final buyout will happen at a price significantly higher than $65–$70.
