The “True” Integration of Metaco at HSBC Custody

While Ripple acquired Metaco some time ago, the key milestone happening right now is that HSBC, one of the world’s largest custodians, is in the full deployment phase of Metaco infrastructure for real custody of digital assets for institutional clients.

Why is this crucial?

Because the DTCC can settle transactions, but someone has to hold the assets. HSBC validating Metaco for custody of institutional tokens is the “yes, I do” from traditional banking capital to start holding assets that run over the Ripple network, eliminating custody risk for trillions of dollars. This is what separates mass liquidity uptake in the market, far more than an ETF.
