$HBAR JUST IN: The $8M+ Bonzo (@Bonzo_Finance) exploit was not a @Hedera network exploit.

False claims are circulating that this happened at the Hedera network level.

According to Bonzo, the attacker exploited a third-party price oracle used by the lending protocol, not Hedera's Hashgraph consensus.

Bonzo has paused borrowing, frozen affected markets and is working with security partners to investigate the incident and recover funds.

A full incident report and additional security updates are expected.

$HBAR Yesterday, there was a lot of FUD claiming the Bonzo (@Bonzo_Finance) incident was a @Hedera network exploit.

I pointed out from the start that the issue was not at the Hedera network level.

Hedera has now confirmed that Bonzo's lending contracts functioned as designed and that the failure occurred in the upstream (third party) oracle layer, (@SUPRA_Labs) not Hedera's Hashgraph consensus.

The Hedera ($HBAR ) community has overcome misinformation before and it will overcome this too.

Always wait for the facts before jumping to conclusions. 👀

🚨 Warning: The attacker allegedly linked to Bonzo currently holds $ETH with a value of 7 million USD.

Bonzo reports that a total of $9 million was stolen.

The same wallet received more than 920 ETH within one hour, and another 77 ETH was transferred in less than 40 minutes ago.
