3iQ Gets an In-Principle Nod in Abu Dhabi🇦🇪

Abu Dhabi's FSRA gave 3iQ Middle East in-principle approval for a Category 4 license. That covers advisory and arranging only, not full fund management yet. 3iQ still has to meet the remaining FSRA conditions. It comes right after their QMAP platform with Further drew about $100M in sovereign-linked seed money.

Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) has just partnered with 3iQ to manage part of its $BTC holdings, aiming for a target of safe profitability. In addition to asset management, the country also expects the deal to create more jobs and provide financial and technology skills training for the young workforce.

Previously, Bhutan had committed to allocating up to 10.000 $BTC to GMC. However, after multiple rounds of portfolio rebalancing, on-chain data shows that the main government wallets currently only hold about 1.750 $BTC (worth approximately $111 million). Therefore, the actual amount of assets handed over to 3iQ for its “productivity boost” remains a question.
