Yesterday I realized why: I never added urgency to my pitches.
And I'm teaching this lesson while making the exact same mistake. Here's what I did wrong, and how I fixed it.
The Mistake: My pitch: "Your positioning is killing growth. I can help. Interested? Let me know." No urgency. No reason to act now. No cost for waiting.
So they thought: "I'll come back to this later." They never did. I identified real problems. I offered real solutions. But I made it feel optional.
The Fix: Now I pitch: "Every month without clear positioning costs you followers and inbounds. Your growth is leaking right now. Let's fix it this week so you stop losing momentum."
Suddenly it's urgent. Suddenly there's a cost to waiting.
The difference between "that's interesting" and "I need this now" is showing them what they're losing every day they delay.
