The Day of Arafah (the 9th of Dhul Hijjah) is widely considered the most important day of the Islamic year. It is a day when the Divine descends to the lowest heaven, expressing pride to the angels about the believers gathered in worship, and releasing countless souls from the fire.
As the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah." (Sahih Muslim)
For Muslims worldwide—whether standing on the plains of Arafah or worshiping from home—this is the ultimate day for Dua (supplication). It is a golden window where prayers are swiftly answered and sins are thoroughly wiped clean.
The Best Supplication on the Day of Arafah
The Prophet (ﷺ) explicitly highlighted the best words to utter on this day. He stated:
"The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah, and the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is:
Transliteration: La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir.
​Translation: "There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things Omnipotent." (Tirmidhi)

​The Golden Hour (Asr to Maghrib): This is the most crucial time. Put away all distractions, find a quiet corner, raise your hands, and beg of Allah.
​Praise Before Asking: Start your personal prayers by praising Allah (using the Takbeerat and the Du'a of Arafah above) and sending blessings upon the Prophet (ﷺ).
