What matters is what happens when financial markets themselves become programmable. Instead of relying on multiple intermediaries, limited trading hours and slow settlement systems, assets could eventually move globally, settle faster and trade 24/7 through blockchain infrastructure. Ondo’s John Hoffman believes this shift could eventually push onchain markets toward $100 trillion, compared with roughly $3 trillion today. It sounds extremely ambitious, but major financial transformations often start small. Hoffman compares the current tokenization market to the early days of ETFs: initially limited, then rapidly expanding once regulation, infrastructure and distribution caught up. If tokenization follows a similar path, we may still be looking at the very beginning of the transition.

Robinhood Chain is starting to look very different from what many expected. On August 30, the network reportedly generated around $2.66 million in app revenue within 24 hours. That was more than double Ethereum’s roughly $1.27 million during the same period. But tokenized equities weren’t responsible for that surge. The real engine appears to be speculation — especially memecoins such as $CASHCAT . Despite being only around two months old, Robinhood Chain recorded approximately 5.52 million transactions in a single day, while decentralized exchange volume climbed to nearly $875 million. A huge portion of the revenue came from just three applications: GMGN, Pons and Uniswap, together representing roughly 88% of total app revenue. GMGN brought in approximately $803,000, Pons generated around $632,000, while Uniswap contributed close to $235,000. Pons might be the clearest example of what is currently happening on the network. Around 22,600 new tokens were reportedly launched through the platform in just one day. Most were not tokenized stocks or real-world assets — they were speculative tokens and memecoins. That creates an unexpected situation for Robinhood Chain. The network was positioned heavily around bringing traditional financial assets on-chain, yet its first major wave of adoption is coming from something completely different: traders looking for a fast and inexpensive place to launch and trade high-risk tokens. And that isn't necessarily a negative. It shows that people are willing to use the network when there is a strong enough reason. The infrastructure is attracting transactions, liquidity and users. The bigger question is what happens next. Memecoin speculation can create enormous activity quickly, but sustaining it is much harder. Robinhood Chain may have outperformed Ethereum on certain metrics for a day, but the real test is whether it can turn this speculative boom into lasting ecosystem activity. $HOOD #ROBINHOOD
