Currently, I'm leaning towards a short strategy.
Even though Intel has had quite a few positive developments recently, deep down, I genuinely believe in its long-term fundamentals. However, trading can't be solely based on good news; we have to focus on the market structure.
On the 4-hour chart, the price has attempted to break out but has now dipped back near the breakout level, which is a classic case of 'breakout failure'. If the price continues to confirm downward from this position, it indicates that selling pressure from above is still present, making the risk-reward ratio for chasing long positions not very favorable.
My plan is pretty straightforward:
Direction: leaning towards a short logic: failed breakout, price retraced back to a key area stop-loss: set above the previous high first take profit: initially looking around 117 risk control: if it regains the previous high with volume, the short logic will be invalidated.
Believing in the long-term potential and short-term shorting strategy are not mutually exclusive.
Fundamentals are faith, while trading focuses on position, structure, and risk management.
