US spot Bitcoin funds took in $526.6M on Oct 19. Ether funds went the other way that day, with net outflows of $103.3M.
Forced closures in the 24 hours to Oct 20 came to $243.3M over 60,657 events, $135.1M from shorts and $108.2M from longs. $ETH carried the most at $74.0M, and the largest single liquidation was $12.0M on $BTC . Open interest across 27 venues is $72.93B, 1.06% above a day earlier.
The largest accounts on Hyperliquid hold 44.8% of their open dollars long, so more of their money sits short. The biggest $BTC wall is a $40.7M ask at $82.8K, 0.05% above mid.
Across 202 tokenized stock wrappers, the median price sat -0.07% from the real share on Oct 20. Buyers of DFDVx on Solana paid the most over the stock at +2.33%, followed by BLK Solana +2.12%. On the other side, BULL Solana -1.49% and AMC Robinhood Chain -1.17% traded below their shares.
Circle wrappers disagreed the most with each other, with a 1.29 pp spread between the highest and lowest priced CRCL tokens.
Valued at the share price, onchain supply came to $3.74B, a +0.87% change since the last recorded day. Decentralized exchanges handled $347.4M of volume, +16.99% on the prior day. Binance bStocks is the largest issuer at $1.20B.
DeFi tokens had the best day of our eight theme baskets in the 24 hours to Oct 20, up 1.49%. Over 30 days, though, the basket has only kept pace with Bitcoin at 0.8%. DePIN had the weakest day at -0.17%, and RWA was the only other basket below zero at -0.06%.
The month belongs to Quantum. That basket is up 53.2% over 30 days, 52.4 points ahead of $BTC . AI leads Bitcoin by 15 points and Layer 2 by 9.9. DePIN still sits 1.1 points ahead despite its soft day.
Meme coins added 0.89% on the day but trail Bitcoin by 7.7 points over the month, at -6.8%.
A $2.78T crypto market leans heavily on one coin. At 19:42 UTC on Oct 20, Bitcoin held 59.55% of it, with Ether a distant second at 10.67%.
For anyone holding altcoins, that split is the backdrop. Most of the money in this market is parked in $BTC , and $ETH and everything else share what remains.
A single reading of the split shows where money sits, not which way it is flowing. One day on its own does not mark money moving toward alts or back into Bitcoin.
Greed still holds on the sentiment gauge, just with a looser grip. The Fear and Greed index, which scores how confident crypto traders feel, lost 4 points in the 24 hours to 19:00 UTC on Oct 20 and reads 55.
The cash pile thinned on the same day. Dollar stablecoins, the tokens traders park money in between trades, moved -0.21% to a total supply of $304.60B.
Bitcoin accounts for 59.52% of the whole crypto market's value.
Altseason has a firmer grip on the market. The Altcoin Season Index reads 80 on Oct 20, up 9 points from a week earlier, with 40 of the 50 altcoins we track beating Bitcoin over the past 90 days.
Those altcoins beat a strong $BTC , which gained 25.5% over the same stretch. The leaders ran far ahead. BTW returned 27x, and Q added +540.7%.
Not every coin kept up. SIREN is the weakest of the group at -27.4%, and $TRX managed only +0.7%.
Turkey premium is -49.8 bps, or -0.50%, with a 33 / 100 score. It is measured from the dollar leg at -46.8 bps and the crypto leg at -3.1 bps. This is a discount reading, so it describes pricing pressure rather than a forecast.
Bitcoin positioning tilts long on every venue we read, and the heaviest tilt sits with the biggest money. As of 16:51 UTC on Oct 20, Binance's top traders held 1.91 in long positions for every 1 short, against 1.65 long accounts per short among those same top accounts and 1.56 across all Binance accounts.
OKX shows 1.63 long per short, and 62.8% of Bybit traders are positioned long. Over the past 24 hours, traders buying at market outpaced sellers by +1,002 BTC, though in the last hour of that window sellers held a slight edge, with buy volume at 0.98 of sell volume.
Among the 30 coins we track, Ether has the most crowded long side, with 2.8 $ETH accounts on Binance betting on a rise for every one betting on a fall.
53 of the 400 crypto perpetuals we track on Binance read oversold on the daily RSI, a 14 day gauge where 30 or under means losses have far outweighed gains. Only 13 read overbought at 70 or above, and the board average is 44.0.
SOPH reads lowest at 16.7 after a -16.1% day. BILL follows at 19.1 with -0.5%, then DATAIP at 21.1 with -5.8%.
APR shows how a reading and a single day can split. It sits at 22.3 on the gauge despite a +27.5% move in 24 hours.
Kraken turned up in three of the four widest funding gaps between venues in the Oct 20 reading at 15:52 UTC, and on both ends. It was the cheapest place to hold a leveraged long in $BNB and $LTC , and the most expensive for $AVAX .
Funding is the fee longs pay shorts each period. For BNB, Kraken and DigiFinex sat 0.1% per 8 hours apart. Avalanche showed the same 0.1% gap, and Litecoin's gap against XT was 0.08%.
Dogwifhat topped the board at 0.11% per 8 hours, with Delta the cheapest venue for longs. On a modeled basis that gap works out to 109.08% a year after fees. The estimate assumes today's spread holds all year and is not a realized return.
Buyers thickened Ether's spot book in the 24 hours to 15:39 UTC on Oct 20. Bids within 2% of the price were 4% deeper than a day earlier and offers were 2.7% thinner, with $ETH up 1.4% over the same window.
Across 21 spot venues that left $89.71M of resting bids against $87.61M of asks, a 1.2% lean to the buy side. The largest buy wall, $17.50M, rests at $2,431.62, only 0.05% under the mid. The biggest sell wall, $19.58M, is far off at $2,901.16, 19.25% above.
This is a snapshot of the book. Resting orders can be pulled at any time.
Ten days running, lira buyers have paid less for Bitcoin than the rest of the world, out of 34 days in our records. On Oct 20 the Turkey Premium Index read -0.36% (-36.2 bps), a score of 37 / 100 in the discount regime.
Most of the gap sits on the dollar side. Tether traded at -28.6 bps against the official USD/TRY rate, with the crypto leg at -7.5 bps. The 24 hour average was -19.9 bps and the 7 day average -13.6 bps.
Among the 5 eligible venues, OKX TR was dearest at -19.6 bps and BtcTurk cheapest at -44.8 bps. This is a price gap, not a trade anyone can lock in.
Traders positioned for a lower Bitcoin price just ran out of room. Over the last 30 minutes, the major venues liquidated $28.3M of leveraged $BTC short positions, closing them automatically when the collateral behind them could no longer cover the losses.
On the long side the damage was small. Only $296.5K of leveraged buyers were closed in the same window, so nearly all of the pain landed on people betting on a drop.
Ether short sellers took the hit in the last 30 minutes. Exchanges across the major venues closed $5.1M of leveraged $ETH positions betting on a lower price, once the collateral behind those bets could no longer cover the losses.
Leveraged buyers came through almost untouched, with $88.8K liquidated over the same half hour. Nearly all of the forced closing landed on one side of the market.
The totals are counted from the raw liquidation streams of the major venues.
Resting bids outweigh offers on Bitcoin and Ether spot books, yet the largest single block in each coin sits on the sell side, just above price. That held across 21 venues at 13:59 UTC on Oct 20.
$BTC at $81,888 carried $167.6M of bids against $144.5M of asks within 2%, an imbalance of +7.4% toward buyers. The biggest ask, $41.8M at $81,929, tops the biggest bid, $32.9M at $81,766.
$ETH at $2,401 lined up the same way: $103.2M of bids against $92.3M of asks, +5.6% toward buyers, with a $21.3M offer at $2,405 above a $19.2M bid at $2,400.
This is resting size that can be pulled at any time, not executed trades.
Chainlink had the thinnest order book of the eight we track on Oct 20, measured at 14:00 UTC. A $1.0M market order in $LINK cost an estimated 23.6 bps in slippage, the gap between the quoted price and the average fill. The same order in $BTC cost 0.1 bps.
Cardano came close behind at 21.3 bps. The rest cost far less: $ETH at 0.4 bps, Solana at 3 bps, XRP at 6.2 bps, BNB at 8 bps and Dogecoin at 8.6 bps.
In a book this thin, a burst of forced closures of that size pushes price further before it fills, whichever side gets hit.
One fund carried the day for US spot Bitcoin ETFs on Oct 19. IBIT took in $665.2M, more than the $526.6M net that the whole group bought, so the other funds were net redeeming on the same settlement date.
The week still leans toward buying, with $363.4M of net inflows over the past 5 days. As of Oct 19, Bitcoin funds held $105.46B in net assets, with $57.40B of cumulative net inflows since launch.
Ether funds went the other way on Oct 19, with investors pulling a net -$103.3M.
Since 2025, days in this mid band saw a median -0.9% BTC move over the next 7d (n=116, base -0.3%, 1y of records). History, not a forecast.
One issuer made up almost the whole day. Of the 129 new tokenized stock wrappers recorded on Oct 20, xStocks issued 120, Coinbase Tokenized Stocks 7 and Backpack Securities 2.
Among the new listings is $AON as AONx from xStocks, live on Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Ethereum, HyperEVM, Ink and Mantle.
Solana carried the most new wrappers with 14. Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Ethereum, HyperEVM, Ink, Mantle, Optimism, TON and X Layer took 12 each, and Base 7. Every listing comes from the issuers' own lists.
