Narrative violation: crypto hackathon is a game now of who can integrate every single sponsor in their project in the most creative way possible to farm max bounties
Judged one recently & it's hilarious to see teams sneaking in every sponsor like a checklist LOL
Getting recognized for your work at ethereum conferences is such a great feeling.
It’s wild to hear from people that your content actually helped them, it makes it all worth it personally, and motivates me to double down & keep shipping helpful stuff for the ecosystem.
most of these platforms & reports tracking crypto dev activity are kind of overrated & rarely give an accurate picture.
They mostly rely on open-source repos but many crypto devs work in private, contribute to/build a fork, or operate in ecosystems that lack a strong open-source culture.
There was a chain once awarded fastest growing dev ecosystem, the next year, it crashed hard, and not a single developer I knew was excited to build on it. sure that’s common post-TGE, but these stats rarely reflect sustainability. They often end up tracking dev airdrop farmers more than actual long-term builders.
I also don't think they are useless; they are v useful for analyzing long-term trends, adoption patterns, and geographic distribution.
136 L2 projects were reevaluated: ➡️ 50 rollups -> only 25 left ➡️ 70 Validium & Optimium -> only 2 left ➡️ Rest were moved to the "Others" section & have 6 months to meet the new requirements
Bull Case for ETH: –> JPMorgan launching stablecoin on Ethereum L2 –> multiple stage-1 rollups live, more coming –> most economically secure + decentralized network -> Stablecoin bill (Genius Act) passed, & ethereum holds over 50% of all stablecoin market cap. -> immense progress on infra: faster zk proofs, millisecond latency -> L1 scaling & L2 interop work underway –> strongest & largest research community
only takeaway from Berlin - I’m more bullish on Ethereum than ever.
The energy & vibes across the whole ecosystem these past few weeks have been amazing, changes at EF are exciting, and every partner I met seemed genuinely optimistic.
can’t say much, but rest of 2025 is going to be major - L1 & L2 scaling, smoother L2 UX, and yes - real institutional adoption.
