Elon Musk on the dangerous extreme of environmentalism, where protecting the planet turns into treating humanity itself as the problem
“In the natural extension of the environmentalist movement, if you go too far, you start to look at humanity as a bad thing. You start to look at humanity as though we are a plague on the surface of the earth
And in fact, there are some people who think and say explicitly that
On the front page of the New York Times, there was a guy who said: there are 8 billion people on earth, it would be better if there were none. Which is crazy”
Cursor can now control your computer, and this is a massive upgrade for its coding agents
The new Computer Use feature allows agents to interact with desktop applications, not just websites or code editors
• Click, type and navigate across desktop apps • Control tools like the iOS Simulator • Test the features they build by interacting with the actual app • Automatically use Computer Use when a task requires it • Manually activate it by @-mentioning Computer Use in your prompt
This is a huge step toward agents that can build software, open it, interact with it and test how everything works without needing you to do every step manually
Coding agents are becoming actual computer operators
President Trump just gave Elon Musk some incredibly high praise, calling him a very good person, brilliant, and someone he knows and trusts personally
"He's a very good person. He's not going to do anything wrong... he's a very brilliant person, or Starlink wouldn't exist... Elon will never do anything wrong. I know him very well. He's a fair person"
NHTSA just proposed major changes to federal vehicle safety rules that would remove outdated barriers for fully autonomous vehicles with no steering wheel or pedals, a big step toward vehicles like Tesla's Cybercab
The proposal updates FMVSS No. 108, the federal lighting standard, to accommodate vehicles operated entirely by an Automated Driving System
Here's what would change:
• The self-driving system can control turn signals, hazard lights and high/low beams without driver-operated switches • Turn signal and high-beam dashboard indicators would only be required in vehicles with manual driving controls • New optional cyan-colored lights could signal to everyone around the vehicle that it's driving itself without human supervision • Restrictions on vertical headlamp arrangements would be removed, giving manufacturers more design freedom • Integral beam headlamps could be tested at their rated operating voltage instead of a fixed 12.8 volts
NHTSA says the changes are "intended to remove unnecessary requirements and to provide design flexibility without impact on vehicle safety."
This is a significant step for vehicles like Cybercab, which are designed from day one to operate without a human driver
The federal rulebook is finally starting to catch up with a future where cars no longer need steering wheels or pedals
Tesla now has 84,465 Supercharger connectors worldwide and added an average of 29 net new connectors every single day over the last year
At the end of Q3 2026:
• 84,465 Supercharger connectors worldwide • 73,817 a year earlier • 10,648 net new connectors in just 12 months • 8,904 Supercharger stations worldwide • 1,151 more stations than a year ago • 200 net new stations added in Q3 alone • 2,108 net new connectors added during Q3
Tesla also deployed its first factory-assembled Accordion Supercharger, designed to make new installations faster and cheaper
And this infrastructure keeps quietly compounding
Every new station makes long-distance EV travel easier, expands charging capacity, and gives more drivers from other automakers access to Tesla's network
Grok Imagine has improved so ridiculously fast that it’s hard to believe how good it has become…it now even generates the best music that you can add to your videos
Insurance companies are starting to recognize just how safe Tesla Full Self-Driving has become. Some are even offering 50% lower insurance premiums to drivers who use it
“Tesla FSD is so safe... that some of the insurance companies offering customers half-price insurance if they use Tesla Full Self-Driving in the car
The Tesla Full Self-Driving software, we update it sometimes once a week”
And the explosion in data centers is creating enormous demand for electricity, grid capacity, and energy storage
That is exactly where Tesla Megapack comes in
Megapack is designed for fast deployment and can store massive amounts of energy, stabilize the grid, and support the enormous, fluctuating power demands of modern data centers
And the demand is already incredible
Elon Musk on Tesla’s Q3 earnings call:
“We’re actually almost sold out of all Megapacks for 2027”
He also expects Megapack gross margins to increase meaningfully
Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja highlighted “extreme demand from data centers,” with Tesla expecting higher average selling prices as production continues expanding
Tesla Robotaxi just expanded its Austin service area to cover Circuit of the Americas, right as the Formula 1 US Grand Prix takes over the city this weekend
The geofence now pushes southeast to reach the track, and service hours now run until 1 AM, up from 12 AM
• Fans can now ride to COTA in a car with no one in the driver's seat • Later hours cover the late-night crowds after the sessions end • Austin is where Robotaxi started, and it keeps getting bigger and running longer
One of the biggest events in Texas, and Tesla's autonomous fleet is right there in the middle of it

Starlink Mobile is building something no carrier has ever done: one network that connects your phone from space and from the ground, giving every American coverage in places that have never had it
SpaceX is said to be seeking at least 80,000 U.S. cell tower sites, in talks with Crown Castle, right after agreeing to buy nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum and getting FCC approval for 15,000 next-gen direct-to-phone satellites
And the possibilities are incredible:
• Signal indoors, outdoors, in dead zones and everywhere in between • Low-band 800 MHz that travels far and reaches deep inside buildings • Gen2 satellites with more than 100x the bandwidth of the current generation • Works with the phone already in your pocket • Real competition for AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile
Starlink Mobile will be the first network operator to deploy both satellite and terrestrial spectrum, so coverage stops depending on where someone happened to build a tower
America is getting a 4th major carrier, and it starts in orbit

Tesla and SpaceX are moving closer together, and it's now official in Tesla's 10-Q
Tesla's board has "formed a special committee to explore deepening Tesla's relationship with SpaceX, which could be through certain arrangements including without limitation a business combination"
SpaceX's own 10-Q confirms a matching special committee on its side
Tesla builds the cars, robots, batteries and real-world SI. SpaceX builds the rockets, Starlink, compute and Grok
Bringing that under one roof would create the most powerful technology company in history
Tesla's FSD adoption is accelerating at an incredible pace
Active FSD users reached a record 1.74 MILLION in Q3, increasing by roughly 260,000 in just three months
That's an average net increase of around 2,800 users every single day
And the value of FSD Supervised is becoming even more compelling
At $99 per month in the U.S., it costs about $3.30 a day, roughly the price of a daily coffee
Tesla's real-world safety data shows substantially lower collision rates when FSD Supervised is engaged:
• 7× fewer major collisions • 7× fewer minor collisions • 5× fewer off-highway collisions
Tesla vehicles have now driven more than 15 BILLION cumulative miles using FSD Supervised, giving Tesla an enormous and continuously growing real-world dataset for improving the system
And adoption keeps accelerating:
• Active FSD users up 67% YoY • Roughly 50% are now monthly subscribers • Over 75% of new Tesla deliveries in North America included a paid FSD signup in Q3
Tesla FSD handles much of their everyday driving under active supervision, with significantly lower reported collision rates when engaged
And the value only gets stronger as FSD continues improving
