Bitcoin did not crash because people suddenly sold it. Bitcoin crashed because the system behind it broke.
On November 21, 2025, only $200 million of real selling caused more than $2 billion in forced liquidations. This means that for every real dollar sold, ten dollars of borrowed money were wiped out.
This exposes a truth most people never see: almost 90 percent of Bitcoin’s market is built on leverage, not real capital. A $1.6 trillion asset is supported by only about $160 billion of actual money. The rest is temporary leverage that disappears when prices move too fast.
A man named Owen Gunden, who bought Bitcoin in 2011 for under $10, held it for 14 years and built a position worth $1.3 billion. He sold everything on November 20. Not out of fear, but because he understood that the structure of the market had changed.
The crash didn’t begin inside crypto. It started in Tokyo. Japan announced economic stimulus, but instead of improving, their bond market collapsed. This meant global investors lost confidence in Japanese government debt. That debt supports trillions of dollars of borrowing across the world. When it breaks, every market feels it.
Bitcoin dropped 10.9 percent. The S&P 500 dropped 1.6 percent. Nasdaq dropped 2.2 percent. All on the same day, for the same reason.
For years, Bitcoin was seen as the alternative to the traditional financial system. But November 21 showed that Bitcoin has now become part of that system. It rises and falls with global liquidity, central banks, and government bond markets. The idea of Bitcoin being fully independent no longer matches reality.

Bitcoin’s extreme volatility will slowly disappear. Not because adoption is failing, but because each major crash destroys a large amount of the leverage that once created those big moves. At the same time, governments are now buying Bitcoin, and governments do not sell. This reduces supply and makes the market more stable.
During the crash, El Salvador bought $100 million worth of Bitcoin. Not for belief, but because global competition forces countries to build reserves once others begin doing the same. Governments accumulate; they do not trade.
Most Bitcoin holders no longer understand what they own. It is no longer an anti-system asset. It now depends on central banks during crises. The Federal Reserve only supports assets that are important to the financial system, and Bitcoin has become one of them.
Bitcoin succeeded so much that it became part of the world it was meant to replace. Its acceptance by trillion-dollar markets made it too big to stay independent.
November 21 made the hidden math visible. Ten dollars of borrowed money for every real dollar. This structure cannot survive. When it finally breaks for good, Bitcoin will turn into something very different from Satoshi’s original idea. It will become a reserve asset controlled by the same institutions that control the rest of global finance.
The revolution is already over. Most people simply have not realized it yet.
