USDT is coming back to Bitcoin after 12 years 😶
🧧🧧🧧
This one broke my brain a little 👀
Tether is bringing USDT to the Bitcoin blockchain using RGB protocol and Lightning Network.
They raised $7.5 million to do it — co-led by Tether itself.
USDT. On Bitcoin. In 2026.
USDT launched on Bitcoin in 2014 via Omni Layer.
Then moved to Ethereum, Tron, Solana — faster, cheaper networks. Bitcoin was too slow and expensive for stablecoin transactions.
Now 12 years later — RGB protocol and Lightning Network solved the speed and cost problem. USDT is coming home.
Why does this matter?
Bitcoin has $1.6 trillion in market cap and 59.10% dominance right now. It's the most trusted, most secure blockchain in existence. But it's had almost zero DeFi or stablecoin activity.
USDT on Bitcoin via Lightning = instant cheap stablecoin transactions on the most secure network in crypto.
If this works — Bitcoin stops being just a store of value and becomes actual financial infrastructure 👁️
XRP is also being considered for Brazil's $4 trillion securities market. Ripple's XRPL lending is moving forward. Everything is converging at once.
