How to Back Up My Binance Wallet?

There are three ways to back up your Binance Wallet: Quick Backup, using Cloud storage or QR code.

Method 1. Quick Backup

With Quick Backup, you can easily back up your wallet and restore it anytime using Binance’s secure verification, no recovery password needed.

Is Quick Backup secure?

Yes, the Quick Backup is secure, the keyshare will be encrypted and backed-up by a third-party service provider who will ensure the safeguarding of such key shares. Accessing Keyshare requires passing Binance's strictest security verification.

1. Select [Quick Backup] method and use biometrics to backup.

Method 2. Backup with iCloud or Google Drive

1. Select [iCloud] or [Google Drive].

  • If you're using an Apple device, make sure that you're logged into your iCloud and have enabled iCloud storage for your Binance app.
  • If you're using an Android device, log in to your Google account and enable the Binance App to access your Google Drive.

2. Set up a recovery password and tap [Continue].

The recovery password is used to encrypt your key-share. Please store it in a secure location and do not share it with anyone. In the unfortunate case that you lose or forget your recovery password, Binance won’t be able to restore it for you, which means you will lose access to the key-share backup and your Binance Wallet.

3. Read the safety tips, check the boxes next to them, and tap [Continue].

4. After you have backed up your wallet, please verify the backup. Upon completing these steps, your wallet backup process will be complete. Please keep your recovery password safe and secure.

Method 3. QR Code

This method backs up your key-share to Greenfield, a decentralized cloud service.

Is QR code backup secure?

Yes, the QR code backup is secure. In the unfortunate event that your QR code is leaked, the hacker would have to get hold of both your recovery password and Binance account to access your Binance Wallet.

1. Select backup with QR code.

2. Set up a recovery password and tap [Continue].

The recovery password is used to encrypt your key-share. Please store it in a secure location and do not share it with anyone. In the unfortunate case that you lose or forget your recovery password, Binance won’t be able to restore it for you, which means you will lose access to the key-share backup and your Binance Wallet.

3. Read the safety tips, check the boxes next to them, and tap [Continue].

4. Save the QR code that has been generated.

After you have saved the QR code, you’ll be asked to verify the backup. Tap [Continue], scan the backup QR code and enter your recovery password.

How to check whether I’ve successfully backed up my Binance Wallet?

1. On the [Home] or [Assets] page, tap [Settings] on the top left, then tap [Wallet Management]. On the Wallet Management page, you’ll see the ‘Backed Up’ tag if you’ve successfully backed up your wallet.

Can I back up my Binance Wallet again?

Yes, you can back up your Binance Wallet again and backup with other methods as well.

1. On the Wallet Management Page, tap the [edit] icon on the top left.

2. Tap [Backup Management].

3. Tap on a backup method and choose [Back Up Again]. Follow the steps to generate a new QR code and/or create a new recovery password to back up your Web3 Wallet.
