Over $5.6 billion drained from Binance hot wallet in a hacker attack

Withdrawals seem to be paused for now while the issue is being investigated.

The crypto market plunged early this morning. It turns out hackers are selling off $BTC $ETH $BNB
Estimated losses are around $2.8 billion, setting a new record for the largest theft in history.

The last major hacking incident was the $1.5 billion Bybit hack in 2025.

CZ and the co-CEO have said that users' funds are safe.
The specific cause is under investigation.
