It is not the same thing as Federal Reserve quantitative easing.   My takeaway: the headline sounds bullish for bonds, but the market still has to prove it. After the announcement, the 10-year yield moved higher toward 4.85%, showing that investors are not treating the buyback as a complete solution.   The bigger signal is that long-duration debt remains under pressure.
