The metal has just reached a new all-time high of $14,533 per tonne on the LME, taking its gain over the past year to around 17%.
What’s interesting is that this surge isn’t happening in isolation. Expectations of tariffs are drawing large quantities of refined copper into the U.S., while aging mines are struggling to keep up with rising demand from AI data centers, renewable energy, and the expansion of electrical grids.
If demand continues to accelerate while supply stays tight, copper could head toward a serious supply crisis.
The AI boom is no longer just a tech story. It’s also becoming a commodities story.$COPPER

day 9 increasing the balance until reaching 20,000$ today I realized something very important: I’ve been given more than 10,000$ in crypto for no reason. I’m not saying I got liquidated or something like that—just that I “gave away” my profits. And I wondered why my copy trader account is growing while my personal account stays negative by 1%.

What happened is that in the copy trader, when I open an operation, I’m very strict and I only keep a few positions open, I’m limited, and I don’t overtrade. But when I open positions in my personal account, sometimes my trades go into profit and I don’t let them finish reaching my take profit.

And already I’ve opened 3 simultaneous operations—so as I have more capital, they end up in losses within a week. I’ve opened more than 60 positions: 40 of them each had a loss of 40$ (negative) and 10 had a profit of 120$ (positive). How did I maintain strict risk management despite overtrading? I didn’t burn my account.

I asked myself if I’m doing good analysis and being strict, because my personal account hasn’t grown like the copy trader’s. And I realized it was because I was opening positions just out of boredom, since my positions usually take days or quite a few hours. So sometimes, when you don’t hit the take profit quickly, you end up opening more positions.

The important thing is to realize your mistakes and know where you’re failing. Because if I don’t see my mistakes, how can I know where I’m failing? Today is a lesson, and I hope it helps you with my experience $KORU
