Binance isn’t really “delisting” this time—it’s more like reshuffling the way accounts are assigned.
According to Wu, starting September 29, Binance will gradually transfer users’ crypto assets in their Funding Accounts to Spot Accounts, with the process expected to continue until January 2027. After the transfer is complete, the Funding Account will be renamed “Stocks Account,” and will be used only for settling stock and stock options trading.
What really matters isn’t the headline, but the operational path: starting September 29, the Funding Account will no longer support on-chain deposits. Going forward, six settlement assets—USD, USDC, USDT, USD1, U, and BNB—will be supported for participating in stock trading. Deposits and withdrawals of other crypto assets will be consolidated and handled through the Spot Account. The platform will also provide a “one-click migration.” Any assets not migrated will be automatically transferred in batches into the Spot Account by the system starting January 2027.
For regular users, one scenario is when your account holds both crypto assets and stock-related settlement assets—you’ll need to first confirm where the funds are going. Another scenario is for users who rely on API, C2C, payment, or recurring investment workflows: you should check the reference paths as well, so that changes in the source of funds during the migration period don’t affect your operations. Do you care more about the account name change, or the actual migration process?
